Duct Cleaning For Your Home

While there are some questions about air duct cleaning as a general practice, there are some situations in which you will definitely want to schedule duct cleaning for your home. Since every home and the conditions there are different, it is difficult to generalize about the most appropriate duct cleaning for your home.

If there are no allergy sufferers in your home and if there are no symptoms or other illnesses that do not have explanation and you visually check your air ducts to find that they are dusty, professional cleaning of the ducts is probably not necessary. Return registers often get dusty as they pull the air from your home. A good vacuuming may be all that is necessary to clean these ducts. Fortunately, most furnaces today have a filter that prevents this dust from getting back into your home. This filter will need to be replaced or cleaned after you clean the return air ducts.

If someone in your home is having unexplained or unusual symptoms that you feel may be related to the home, then you need to discuss this situation with your doctor.

Over time, dust does tend to build up in air ducts. In addition, if you have floor registers dust, dirt, debris and dander tend to fall into these registers. If duct cleaning is done correctly, all of these items can be removed so that they are not constantly blowing around in your home.
